FLEET EFFICIENCY SERVICES

ARC Fleet Efficiency services can find opportunities to reduce operating costs with a review of fleet setup and its operations. Different levels of detailed reviews are available, ranging from consultancy, fuel economy to aerodynamic analysis. Using the solutions and services in house, ARC will formulate a strategy to save you money.
Consultancy Analysis involves ARC specialists visiting your fleet, reviewing tractor/trailer combinations for aerodynamic fuel economy improvements, duty cycle to minimize down times, suspension parts for quality control and ride improvement and route analysis to save time and miles.
Fuel Economy Analysis takes your fleet's current tractor/trailer combination, analyzes the aerodynamic setup and quantifies your current fuel economy, then using a best setup, the same analysis is run to give a measureable gain in fuel economy in terms of cost savings.
Aerodynamic Analysis uses ARC's inventory of aftermarket parts to develop specific combinations of aftermarket components for a fleet's particular tractor/trailer combination. Results from testing are given to the fleet to allow them to select the best package and aftermarket parts to save money.

ARC 7-POST BENEFITS ALL LEVELS OF RACING

The 7-Post located at the ARC Indianapolis test facility caters to all motorsport vehicles and provides valuable feedback without lots of starting data. The vehicle dynamic rig can be configured as a aerodynamic loading 7-post or 4-post for low downforce cars.
Linked with expert vehicle dynamic and shock/damper setting advice that is included in the facility rental, ladder series or amateur race teams can find ways to make the car easier to drive and improvements in lap times.
Inputs can be provided by the customer or by using ARC's database of sine sweeps and actual track data. On the data collection side, the customer can take home all data gathered during the test without needing extra software.
Another use for the 7-post is weight tuning on the vehicle. Each post accurately measures the loaded weight. Thus, the customer can gain an understanding of how shifting weight around on the car actually effects the corner weights.

CFD SLIDING MESH TECHNOLOGY

To further improve aerodynamic understanding and reduce vehicle drag, sliding mesh technology is a means to analyze unsteady effects of vehicle motion. Instead of an object standing still and the air moving past it (like in a wind tunnel), this technique allows for the air to stand still and an object move through it.

ARC's ELEMENTS CFD package offers this sliding mesh technology via the Arbitrary Meshing Interface (AMI) approach. This technique allows simulation across disconnected, but adjacent domains moving relative to one another, such as rotating wheels on a car. Vehicle simulations are now more accurate than ever.

What are the advantages of Pneumatic Tires?
When compared to carbon or rapid prototype tires normally used in scale model wind tunnel testing, pneumatic tires offer increased simulation accuracy by featuring:
